Our culture is whispering seductive lies. It calls sin "love." It calls delusion "truth." It calls murder "medicine." It calls God's own Word a "myth." These are not merely alternative viewpoints; they are foundational deceptions designed to crumble the very order of God's creation. The Bible, however, does not whisper; it declares. It offers an unyielding foundation in a world built on the sinking sand of human feeling and falsehood. This article will drag these modern lies into the piercing light of Scripture, exposing the profound and provocative clash between the spirit of the age and the timeless absolute truth of God.
Homosexuality is Sin, Not Love
In contemporary discourse, love is often presented as the ultimate virtue, justifying any and all relationships. However, from a biblical standpoint, love must be defined and expressed within the framework of God's revealed will. The Bible, in both the Old and New Testaments, categorizes homosexual practice as a sin.
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. (Leviticus 18:22)
26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions... 27 men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. (Romans 1:26–27)
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?... 11And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified. (1 Corinthians 6:9,11)
Christ's grace empowers believers to live transformed lives: those in Christ become new creations, crucifying fleshly passions and keeping in step with the Spirit.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. (Galatians 5:24–25)
Scripture understands that all sin is a deviation from God’s perfect design for humanity. God’s creation of humanity as male and female, intended for a complementary, procreative union, is foundational. Therefore, while all people are to be treated with love and compassion, affirming homosexual behavior as loving is to redefine love in a way that contradicts biblical authority. The truest love calls all individuals to repentance and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, who alone can forgive sin and transform desires.
Transgenderism is Deceit, Not Truth
The concept of transgenderism, which posits that an individual's gender identity is separate from their biological sex, presents a direct challenge to the biblical understanding of created reality. Scripture affirms that God's creation is purposeful and good, and this includes the biological distinction between male and female.
So God created man in his own image... male and female He created them. (Genesis 1:27)
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? (Jeremiah 17:9)
A woman shall not wear a man's garment, nor shall a man put on a woman's cloak... for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God. (Deuteronomy 22:5)
From a biblical perspective, transgenderism can be seen as a manifestation of envy for the biological characteristics of the other sex. The appropriate response is not to alter the body to align with subjective feelings, but to find contentment in the identity God has given. True identity is not self-determined, but is found in Christ.
Abortion is Murder, Not Medicine
The sanctity of human life from conception is a cornerstone of Christian ethics. Drawing from Scripture, the Bible unequivocally views abortion as the taking of a human life, in violation of the sixth commandment, “You shall not murder.”
13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb... 16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. (Psalm 139:13,16)
22 When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined... 23 But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life. (Exodus 21:22–23)
To label abortion as “medicine” or “healthcare” is a grave distortion of language and morality. Murder is the unauthorized taking of a human life, a being created in the image of God.
Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. (Genesis 9:6)
While difficult circumstances surrounding a pregnancy are acknowledged, the solution is not to end the life of the innocent. The Christian response is one of compassion and support for both mother and child, upholding the sanctity of all human life.
The Bible is Fact, Not Myth
In an age of skepticism, the Bible is often dismissed as a collection of myths and legends. However, a robust defense of the Christian faith rests on the historical reliability and factual nature of the Scriptures. The Bible upholds the doctrine of biblical inerrancy, affirming that the Scriptures, in their original manuscripts, are without error in all that they affirm.
For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. (2 Peter 1:16)
The Bible’s literary style is distinct from ancient mythology. It presents itself as a historical account, and archaeological research, such as the Tel Dan Inscription (archaeological evidence mentioning the biblical king David), has corroborated its accuracy.
To view the Bible as myth is to undermine its central message. The Christian faith is not based on abstract principles but on the historical reality of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Bible’s unified message, pointing to Christ as the mediator between God and humanity, is its central theme. To deny its factuality is to reject the very foundation of the Christian faith and the authority of God's Word.
The lines have been drawn not by some smart person, but by God Himself in the pages of His Word. To call sin "love," deceit "truth," and murder "medicine" is not progress; it is the ancient rebellion of the human heart against its Creator. It is the creature attempting to usurp the throne of God, redefining reality itself to suit its own desires. This is not a battle of opinions; it is a war over truth, and the souls of men and women are the territory.
To capitulate to the spirit of the age, to soften the Bible's clear commands, to remain silent in the face of blatant falsehood, is to be complicit in the very lies that lead to destruction. The Christian calling is not to be culturally palatable but to be biblically faithful. The uncomfortable, provocative truth is that true love warns of sin, true compassion speaks the truth, and true life is found only in submission to the Giver of Life.
Yet, the same Bible that so clearly diagnoses the sickness of sin also provides the one and only cure. The gospel of the true Lord Jesus Christ declares that all are sinners, dead in their trespasses, yet offers unmerited grace and complete transformation to all who repent and believe in Him. The final choice, therefore, is not between hate and love, but between two opposing faiths: a faith in the shifting, self-serving whims of humanity, or a faith in the unchanging, authoritative, and life-giving Word of God. On this, there can be no compromise.
